All who see me scoff at me;
they mock me with parted lips, they wag their heads:

I will proclaim your name to my brethren;
in the midst of the assembly I will praise you:

The Lord God is our help, who never abandons us. Assured of this steadfast
love, we bring our needs, and the needs of the whole world.

A For the Church,
that this commemoration of Holy Week bring renewed vigor
to the work of spreading the Gospel of Jesus, the name above all names,
let us pray to the Lord:
B For the world,
that the power of Christ crucified may lead lands
torn apart by violence to make a commitment to justice and peace,
let us pray to the Lord:
C For those justly convicted of violent crimes,
that the suffering of Christ
instill a sincere desire to change their lives,
let us pray to the Lord:
D For those who are weary, weighed down by the burdens of life,
that they may experience the joy of Easter,
