Help us now to offer our prayers with that same spirit of service.

A That the Church and its leaders be inspired by the message of this Advent,
to perform prophetic works of justice for the poor,
let us pray to the Lord:
B That world leaders may be better able to read the signs of the times,
and work ever harder to satisfy their people’s longing for peace,

C That those who work to spread the Gospel throughout the world
may give deeper witness to the love of God and the power of the Spirit,

be inspired by the example of Mary, who longed to do God’s will in her life,
