First Reading (Prv 9:1-6)
A reading from the Book of Proverbs
Wisdom has built her house,
she has set up her seven columns;
she has dressed her meat, mixed her wine,
yes, she has spread her table.
She has sent out her maidens; she calls
from the heights out over the city:
"Let whoever is simple turn in here;
To the one who lacks understanding, she says,
Come, eat of my food,
and drink of the wine I have mixed!
Forsake foolishness that you may live;
advance in the way of understanding."

Bài Ðọc I: (Cn 9:1-6)
“Các ngươi hãy ăn bánh của ta, và hãy uống rượu ta đã pha cho các ngươi”.
Trích sách Châm Ngôn.
Sự khôn ngoan đã xây nhà mình và dựng bảy cột trụ, đã giết các sinh vật, pha rượu, dọn bàn tiệc, và sai những nữ tỳ lên các nơi cao trong thành mà công bố rằng: “Ai ngây thơ, hãy đến cùng ta”. Và bảo những kẻ mê muội rằng: “Các ngươi hãy đến ăn bánh của ta, và uống rượu ta đã pha cho các ngươi. Các ngươi hãy bỏ sự ngây dại đi, thì sẽ được sống, và hãy bước theo đường lối khôn ngoan”.
Ðó là lời Chúa.

Xướng: Tôi chúc tụng Chúa trong mọi lúc, miệng tôi hằng liên lỉ ngợi khen Người. Trong Chúa linh hồn tôi hãnh diện, bạn nghèo hãy nghe và hãy mừng vui.
Glorify the LORD with me,
let us together extol his name.
I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.

Xướng: Hãy cùng tôi ngợi khen Đức Chúa, ta đồng thanh tán tụng danh Người. Tôi đã tìm kiếm Chúa, và Người đáp lại, giải thoát cho khỏi mọi nỗi kinh hoàng.
Look to him that you may be radiant with joy,
and your faces may not blush with shame.
When the poor one called out, the LORD heard,
and from all his distress he saved him.

Second Reading (Eph 5:15-20)
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians
Brothers and sisters:
Watch carefully how you live,
not as foolish persons but as wise,
making the most of the opportunity,
because the days are evil.
Therefore, do not continue in ignorance,
but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.
And do not get drunk on wine, in which lies debauchery,
but be filled with the Spirit,
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
giving thanks always and for everything
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

Bài Ðọc II: (Ep 5:15-20)
“Anh em hãy ăn ở khôn ngoan theo thánh ý Chúa”.
Trích thư Thánh Phaolô Tông đồ gửi tín hữu Êphêxô.
Anh em thân mến, anh em hãy xét coi phải ăn ở thế nào cho thận trọng, đừng như những kẻ dại dột, song như những người khôn ngoan: biết lợi dụng thời giờ, vì thời buổi này đen tối. Vì thế anh em chớ ăn ở bất cẩn, nhưng hãy hiểu biết thế nào là thánh ý Thiên Chúa. Anh em chớ say sưa rượu chè, vì rượu sinh ra dâm dục, nhưng hãy tiếp nhận dồi dào Chúa Thánh Thần, cùng nhau hát lên những thánh vịnh, những ca vãn và những bài ca đạo đức và hết lòng ca tụng Chúa. Hãy luôn luôn cảm tạ Thiên Chúa là Cha trong mọi nơi mọi sự, nhân danh Ðức Giêsu Kitô, Chúa chúng ta.
Ðó là lời Chúa.

Gospel (Jn 6:51-58)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Saint John
Jesus said to the crowds:
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world."
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life,
and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food,
and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died,
whoever eats this bread will live forever."
The Gospel of the Lord
Phúc Âm: (Ga 6:51-59)
“Thịt Ta thật là của ăn, và Máu Ta thật là của uống”.
Tin Mừng Chúa Giêsu Kitô theo Thánh Gioan.
Khi ấy, Chúa Giêsu phán cùng dân Do-thái rằng: “Ta là bánh hằng sống từ trời xuống; ai ăn bánh này, thì sẽ sống đời đời. Và bánh Ta sẽ ban, chính là thịt Ta, để cho thế gian được sống”.
Vậy người Do-thái tranh luận với nhau rằng: “Làm sao ông này có thể lấy thịt mình cho chúng ta ăn được?”
Bấy giờ Chúa Giêsu nói với họ: “Thật, Ta bảo thật các ngươi: Nếu các ngươi không ăn thịt Con Người và uống máu Ngài, các ngươi sẽ không có sự sống trong các ngươi. Ai ăn thịt Ta và uống máu Ta thì có sự sống đời đời, và Ta, Ta sẽ cho kẻ ấy sống lại ngày sau hết. Vì thịt Ta thật là của ăn, và máu Ta thật là của uống. Ai ăn thịt Ta và uống máu Ta, thì ở trong Ta và Ta ở trong kẻ ấy. Cũng như Cha, là Ðấng hằng sống đã sai Ta, nên Ta sống nhờ Cha, thì kẻ ăn Ta, chính người ấy cũng sẽ sống nhờ Ta. Ðây là bánh bởi trời xuống. Không phải như cha ông các ngươi đã ăn manna và đã chết, ai ăn bánh này thì sẽ sống đời đời”.
Ðó là lời Chúa.

B. That civil authorities work effectively with the private sector
to provide adequate food, work, and shelter for all,
let us pray to the Lord:
C. That communities ensure effective help
for those who suffer from mental or emotional illness,
let us pray to the Lord:
D. That those who struggle to understand God's plan for their lives
find the wisdom to face what seem like evil days,
let us pray to the Lord:
E. That all at this table, especially those who have been estranged,
be reconciled to God and to one another in this Eucharist of love,
let us pray to the Lord:
