A. Introduction
a. To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration. This fourth Sunday in Ordinary time we offer to commemorate the Presentation of the Lord into the Holy Temple.
Christ Jesus, the Son of God, the Savior of the world, was given since his birth as sin sacrifice to the human race. His presentation into the Holy Temple was seen as the solemn entrance of the true and authentic High Priest Who would soon lay down His own life as the worthiest and most satisfactory offering on the altar of the cross to obtain for humanity God’s merciful forgiveness.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.
b. To the Readings
- First Reading: Mal 3:1-4
The Prophet Malachi announcing the coming of the Lord describes it as the day of final judgment and restoration of peace and order for all peoples in the world.
- Second Reading: Heb 2:14-18
In his Letter to the Hebrews, Saint Paul holds the truth that Jesus Christ’s mission was to destroy the power of death and free those chained by sin.
