A. Introduction
a. To The Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration to commemorate the Baptism of the Lord.
Sinless though He was, Our Lord came to the Jordan River to be baptized by Saint John the Baptist in order to—as He Himself said to the latter, “fulfill all righteousness.” By so doing, He taught us how to obey the Holy Will of God the Father.
We Christians also celebrate our sacrament of Baptism in the Holy Name of the Most Holy Trinity through which we become members of the mystical Body of Christ, the Church, and sharers of His Divine Sonship and coheirs to life everlasting.
Kindly all stand and sing the entrance hymn.
b. To the Readings
- First Reading: Is 42:1-4.6-7
The Book of the Prophet Isaiah depicts the Messiah as the humble and dedicated servant of the Lord. This image would later be found in Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
