A. Introduction
a) To
the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for
the Sunday Holy Mass celebration.
This Sunday, we solemnly celebrate Christ the
King Sunday, honoring the kingship of Christ.
Unlike kings in the history of humanity who build their kingdom with
much blood of victims killed in power disputes, Christ our Lord established His
Kingdom by shedding His own blood as a sin offering to free humankind from eternal
death in the hand of the Evil One.
Unlike kingdoms on earth which force people to serve those on top,
Christ’s Kingdom urges those on top power to serve grass root people after the
example of Christ the King Who came not to be served but to serve and lay down
His life for the salvation of all peoples.
Let us pray hard in this Holy Mass for the
coming of the Kingdom of Christ, Who will come in His glory to bring us into
His Reign of love, peace and everlasting happiness.
Kindly all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To
the Readings
- First Reading: 2 Sm 5:1-3
King David was anointed as the leader of
Israel after the model of the Lord God Who leads His people the way a shepherd
tends His sheep.
- Second Reading: Col 1:12-20
It is Christ Who by His blood and cross
obtained for us God’s merciful love and forgiveness. It is Christ Who brings us into the Kingdom
