A. Introduction
a) To the
Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and
Brothers in Christ, good morning!
Today, as we
celebrate the 21st Sunday in the Ordinary Time, we listen to Our Lord Jesus
encourage His disciples to enter the narrow gate so that they may have life.
It is really a big
challenge for Christians in a time of crisis to live up to the demands of the
Good News. People often choose the easy
way to success in society. This may lead
them to do the same when thinking of how to enter the Kingdom of God.
We pray to the Lord
in this Holy Mass for the blessing of right discerning so as to properly
respond to the Word of God for the sake of our true and lasting happiness.
Please all stand and
sing the entrance hymn.
b) To the
Readings
-
First Reading (Is
66:18-21)
The Prophet Isaiah
foresees a magnificent scene that there will be one day the solemn worship of
the Lord God in the Holy Temple where all peoples and nations united in faith
offer God praises and thanksgiving.
-
Second Reading (Heb
12:5-7. 11-13)
Saint Paul gives the
believers who are undergoing trials and sufferings the reason for being firm
and persevering. This is because the
Lord God, as a loving Father but also a serious educator, wants His children to
be well trained through discipline.
