A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday
Holy Mass celebration. The Gospel for
the Fifth Sunday in the Ordinary Time tells us how the first disciples were
called by Christ and how they reacted to His call. It was the Lord Who encouraged the fishermen
to leave everything behind and go preaching the Good News of salvation.
We pray in this Holy Mass for more positive responses
from our Christian communities to the service of God’s Kingdom, in particular
in the consecrated life of religious sisters and brothers, and in the
priesthood.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First
Reading: Is 6:1-2a.3-8
Acknowledging his unworthiness and confessing his
sinfulness was the reaction by the Prophet Isaiah to God’s call. The Lord, however, purified human beings from
sin and made them witnesses of His merciful love.
-
Second
Reading: 1 Cor 15:1-11
The Great Apostle of the Gentiles, Saint Paul, proudly
tells us how the love and mercy of God helped change his life, from being
persecutor of the Church to its defender.
