A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass
celebration.
This Sunday is the Second in the Ordinary Time, Cycle B of the liturgical
year 2018.
After Christmas comes the first set of around 6 Sundays in the Ordinary Time before the Lenten Season.
During the Ordinary Time, the Church continues with thanksgiving, praise
and worship the joyful celebration of the Paschal Mystery, the glorious rising
to life of Christ, our Lord and Savior.
In other words, Easter Sunday is repeated again and again when
Christians gather in unity by faith and the Holy Spirit to take part in the
Supper of the Lord until He comes one day in glory.
We pray in this Holy Mass for gift of unity in Christ which pulls down the
wall of division and separation among Christians of all denominations.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
- First Reading: 1 Sam 3:3b-10.19
The Lord God called the boy Samuel and entrusted him a mission: that of
serving Him and His people. With
willingness and humility Samuel reacted positively to God’s will and became
from that day on His faithful and devoted servant.
- Second Reading: 1 Cor 6:13c-15a.17-20
Through the power of the Sacrament of Baptism, Christians become the Lord
God’s holy temple where they offer their lives filled with prayers and
sacrifices pleasing to God.
