Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish
Church for the Holy Mass celebration in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God.
We have solemnly welcomed into our
human family Jesus Christ, Son of God and God Himself December 25 last
week. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,
was conceived in the womb of the Blessed
Virgin Mother and born of Her.
Today, we profess the truth that the
Mother Who bore Jesus in His human nature also bore Him in His divine nature,
for the two natures of Jesus are forever united inseparably in one divine
Person.
Therefore, the Blessed Virgin Mary is
the Mother of Jesus of Nazareth and is at the same time the Mother of Christ,
the Son of God, and God Himself.
Today, the New Year Day and the World
Day of Peace, we pray for a grace-filled New Year as the fruit of dedicated and
selfless services of God and neighbor.
Kindly all stand for the entrance
hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading: Nm 6:22-27
The Lord God told Moses, the great
Prophet, to bless in His Holy Name the People of Israel and they would surely
receive many divine favors.
-
Second Reading: Gal 4:4-7
Saint Paul in his Letter to the
Galtians assures us Christians of this truth that Christ Jesus, the Son of God,
was born of the Blessed Virgin Mother in order for us to become adoptive
children of God. So we are allowed by
Jesus to pray to God, addressing the Creator of heaven and earth “Abba,
Father!”.
