A. Introduction
a) To The Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome to
Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of Sunday Holy Mass.
This last
Sunday of Advent is fully covered with great joy to the good news of the conception
of the Son of God in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mother by the power of the
Holy Spirit.
This great
event would not have occurred had the Blessed Mother not willingly expressed
her consent to the request of God the Father.
It was
thanks to the “Fiat—Yes” of the Blessed Virgin that humanity won Divine Mercy
for humanity once incurring Divine sentence for saying “No” to God’s love.
We pray in
this Holy Mass for the grace of voluntary obedience to God’s Holy Will in order
for Christ’s saving power forever to reign on all over the world.
Kindly all
stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To The Readings
- First Reading 2 Sam
7:1-5.8b-12.14.16
After King
David had established his rule over the people of Israel, he decided to build a
temple for Yahweh God as his expression of deep gratitude. But God promised to grant the king a greater
blessing: that of the glorious and lasting reign of one of his descendants. This would come true soon with the appearance
of Christ, the Son of the house of David.
- Second Reading Rom 25-27
The Coming
of Christ, the Son of God, is the realization of God’s promises of salvation to
all humanity and creation. To this great
Divine compassion and forgiveness all peoples and nations are urged to
unceasingly offer praises and thanks.
