A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning! Welcome to Saint Dominic Parish Church for the
celebration of the 20th Sunday in the Ordinary Time, Year A.
The Word of God which we are about to hear tells us how great
God’s love is toward all people. God wants all people to be saved from
sin and death. God’s saving mercy, on the one hand, has no boundary and
cannot be limited. On the other, we have
to show our determination in giving up everything, even something close to our
heart, in order to obtain God’s gift of faith.
We are obliged, in our turn, to put into practice God’s merciful
love whenever we deal with our fellow men and women, no matter who they may
be.
We pray hard in this Holy Mass for the grace of trust in Divine
Mercy and perseverance in the path of salving truth in accordance with Christ’s
Gospel.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
- First
Reading Is 56:1.6-7
God has a dream that one day people from four corners of the earth
will come into the Holy Temple and worship Him. In order that His dream
may come true, God sent His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, to
proclaim to all peoples the Good News of salvation.
- Second
Reading Rom 11:13-15.29-32
The power of God’s saving love can turn misfortune into
blessing. The disobedience of the People of the Old covenant paved the
way for the obedience of the People of the New Covenant. The awareness of
God’s mercy should urge us Christians to live a life worthy of being an
expression of authentic gratefulness to Him Who so loved us that He gave us His
Only Son.
