Introduction
a)
To
the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday
Holy Mass celebration.
As today we are celebrating the Twelfth Sunday in
Ordinary Time, Year A, the message of the Word of God comes to us bringing
encouragement and assurance which we, believers in Christ, really need to
survive this time of crisis of faith and morals.
In fact, we are confronting a world torn by violence,
hatred, lies, division and all forms of evil.
People get confused, lost amid of rampant lawlessness. The Christian community is not spared from
the test of the forces of evil.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot
kill the soul”, Christ our Lord strongly tells us.
Our Lord also tells us that “No greater love than to lay
down one’s own life for one’s friend.”
It is our great honor to serve the Lord to the last
breath.
We have no reason to doubt that Christ always stays with
us as He has so promised, to the end of the age.
Kindly
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b)
To
the Readings
-
First
Reading: Jer 20:10-13
Those
who trust in God would stand firm even in time of severe trials for they are
sure that the Lord listens to their cry for help and comes to rescue them from
all harms.
-
Second
Reading: Rom 5:12-15
Saint
Paul sees suffering and death as evil consequences of sin spread to all through
the transgression of one man. But salvation
brought about to all humanity of all times and in all places has proved to be
much more powerful and effective through the suffering, death and resurrection
of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
