A. Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and
Brothers,
Good
morning!
Welcome to
Saint Dominic’s Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration. As we celebrate the Seventeenth Sunday today,
the Word of God comes to strengthen our faith in the Divine Mercy which always
brings us strong hope for the renewal of a sinful humanity.
God
forgives our sins and grants us a chance to get up from the darkness of evil
and go back to His love.
We pray in
this Holy Mass for the gift of repentance of our wrongs and that of conversion
to our merciful and forgiving Father.
We also pray for our
friends:
-
LILIAN
STEPHANI LIE
-
TIMOTHY
LACEY
-
STEVEN
FREDERIK
-
TRẦN
TỬ ĐỆ
who today are welcomed into the Church as Catechumens,
and ready for the Sacraments of Christian Initiation, namely Baptism,
Confirmation, and Eucharist.
We pray in
particular for VERONIQUE AN HERRING who is baptized today into the Catholic
Church. This is a good news not only for
her proud father Kristofer and mother An Vi, but also for the Christian
community.
Please all stand for the
entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading: Gn 18:20-32
The Lord God is so merciful and
patient that He allows the Patriarch Abraham to bargain for the survival of
sinners. This really encourages us not
to lose our hope for even late going back to God for salvation.
-
Second Reading: Col 2:12-14
Saint Paul teaches this truth that
Christ through His saving sacrifice on the Cross has removed the burden of sin
and freed us sinners from the bond of slavery to sin.
