A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration. As we celebrate the Fifteenth Sunday in the
Ordinary Time today, the message of God’s Word comes to us bringing the Good
News of Divine Merciful Love telling us how to put into practice the new
commandment of love by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Christian love asks each and one of us to
quickly respond to the needs of the poor, the suffering and the oppressed as if
they were our blood sisters and brothers no matter who they are with regard to social,
political and religious aspects.
We
pray hard in this Holy Mass to the God of all blessings for a true, sincere and
unconditional love of our neighbors, keeping in our mind what Christ our Lord
will tell us at the Last Judgment, “Whatever
you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me”. (Mt 25:40)
Please all stand for the
entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading: Dt 30:10-14
The Great Prophet Moses tells the
people of Israel to observe God’s Commandments with love and happiness for that
act of worship is not difficult as if they had to go up to sky or to cross
through the sea in order to fulfill the divine law. On the contrary, God’s law is inscribed in
the heart of each and one of us so that we may walk in the way of truth and
life.
-
Second Reading: Col 1:15-20
God so loved us that he
had decreed from eternity that salvation be brought about by Christ Jesus, His
Only Son, our Lord and Savior. In
Christ, all of us, sinners, have been reconciled to God, and are sent as
peacemakers to people divided by forces of evil.
