Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration. Today we celebrate the Tenth Sunday in the
Ordinary Time, Year C. The Readings send
us a very touching message of Divine Mercy that saved life of people and gave
unlimited chances to sinners to repent of their sins and receive God’s
forgiveness.
Today
we also witness the rite of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in which Shutilin Vitaly and Therese Phạm Thị Hồng Phước will
make their marital vows and be united forever in Christ, the very soul and
heart of their family life.
We pray hard in this Holy Mass for Vitaly and Hồng
Phước, and for ourselves, to be authentic intruments of God’s merciful love in
a world torn by divisions, hatred and violence.
Kindly all stand for the entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First
Reading: 1 Kgs 17:17-24
Elijah was sent by God to save the life of the poor
widow’s only son. That miracle happened
to assure people that God always listens to the prayer and cry of the poor and
the suffering.
-
Second Reading:
Gal 1:11-19
Saint Paul, after his conversion to the Lord God, did not
feel ashamed to tell people about his past life stained by even grave sins of
persecuting believers in Christ. God not
only forgave him but also chose him to be an apostle of His Son.
