A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration. Today, we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of
Easter, the Good Shepherd Sunday, based on the Gospel message that Jesus Christ
our Lord and Savior always loves and cares for us the way a good shepherd does in
tending his sheep.
We
pray to the Good Shepherd for many more dedicated leaders of the Church who
serve God and His Holy People after the example of Him Who laid down His own
life for His sheep. We also pray for us
to be attentive to the voice of our Shepherd, concerning in particular our
faith and moral way of life.
Kindly
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading: Acts 13:14.43-52
The reaction
of the Jews to the Good News preached by the disciples was negative. The Holy Spirit, Who is the soul of the
Church’s mission, gave the Christian preachers a rather better option:
non-Jewish listeners had the chance to hear the saving Word of the Risen Lord.
-
Second Reading: Rv 7:9.14b-17
Accompanying
the Lamb in the heavenly victory celebration was the countless multitude of
peoples from the four corners of the earth, who were saved through faith in
Jesus our Lord and Savior.
