Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of Sunday Holy Mass.
Today,
we join the universal Church and the whole world in celebrating the Birthday of
Christ the Lord, the Savior, and the Almighty God Who comes to bring us love
and peace.
Today,
we offer our prayers and songs of praise and thanks to the God made man for His
great love and mercy with which He has freed us from the slavery to sin and
death.
Today,
we witness the blessing of salvation by Christ the Savior being granted to our
sisters and brothers who are about to receive the Holy Sacraments of initiation
to Christian Life, namely Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist or Holy
Communion.
With
great joy and profound gratitude, kindly all stand and sing the entrance hymn “Adeste
Fideles—O Come, All Ye Faithful.”
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading: Is 57:7-10
The Prophet
Isaiah announces the good news of coming of the long awaited Savior Who will restore
everyone and everything having been in ruins and destruction to their original
truth, goodness and beauty.
-
Second Reading: Heb 1:1-6
According to
the author of the Letter to the Hebrews, the sacrifice offered by Christ the
Lord to God the Father has gained for us divine mercy and forgiveness because
it was a sacrifice of unconditional loving obedience to the Holy Will of the
One Whose great love was seriously offended by an ungrateful and disobedient
humanity.
