Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for our Sunday Holy Mass celebration. Today we celebrate the 22nd Sunday
in the Ordinary Time, Year B.
Christ
in the Gospel reading teaches us to worship God not just with words but also
with hearts and actions.
In
other words, our service of God should not be limited within the church alone,
but it needs being extended to all stages of our life, wherever we go and in
whatever we do.
We
pray hard in this Holy Mass for the gift of living and creative worship of God,
our Father in heaven.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading Dt 4:1-2.6-8
The great
Prophet Moses urges the people of Israel to serve the Lord God with sincere
gratitude for countless blessings which they have received from divine goodness
by carefully observing His Commandments.
-
Second Reading Jas 1:17-18.21b.27
Saint James
in tune with Christ’s teaching on true and real life service of God tells
Christians to be “doers of the word and not hearers only” by combining the
commandment of love: love of God and of the suffering.
