Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Today,
we celebrate the VI Sunday in the Ordinary Time, Year B, the last in the first
set of the Sundays before Easter Sunday.
This coming week we will start the Lenten Season with the Ash Wednesday.
The
Gospel tells us how Christ healed the leper from his sickness and so helped him
to be admitted again into the Jewish community.
This healing teaches us Christians to be confident in Christ’s saving
power through which we are cleansed from our sins and so able to join the
Christian Community of believers.
Kindly
all stand for the entrance hymn.

To the Readings
-
First Reading: Lv 13:1-2.44-46
The Old
Testament practices consider leprosy as the proof of divine punishment for
somebody’s sinfulness. For this reason
people infected with this sickness should be separated from the rest of the
community in order to avoid contamination.
-
Second Reading: 1 Cor 10:31-11:1
Saint Paul
urges Christians to be so mindful of others’ salvation that they would not
offense any of the sisters and brothers in the community.
