Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Today, as we
celebrate the First Sunday of Lent, we are encouraged to join the Church in a
campaign of integral renewal of our Christian Way of Life in preparation for
the most important event: the most solemn and joyful Easter Sunday.
Christ in
this Sunday’s Gospel story entered the desert to keep fasting and praying. The forces of evil did not leave Him alone.
They assailed Him and tried with their most powerful deception to break His
will. But He resisted and fought back and won over them.
We, too,
should be ready to start a long journey of 40 days to conversion, fighting all
forms of evil, so as to die to the old person, and rise to the new life with
Christ.
Kindly all
stand for the entrance hymn.
b)
