Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration.
As
we celebrate the Third Sunday in the Ordinary Time today, the Word of God is
urging us to repent of our sin in order that we may be worthy of the Kingdom of
God preached by Christ.
To
this so urgent a call no one can make any excuse to delay a timely response.
We
pray in this Holy Mass for the grace of wisdom to react properly to God’s Holy
Will, and for the grace of courage to carry out His call even though we have to
pay some cost.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.

To the Readings
-
First Reading Jon 3:1-5.10
Being called
by the Lord God to preach repentance to the king and his subjects in Nineveh, a
city notorious for crimes, the prophet Jonah found this mission equivalent to a
death penalty. He was so scared that he ran
away to save his own life. The Lord God,
however, forced him to accomplish what God commanded him to do for the sake of
sinners.
-
Second Reading 7:25-31
Saint Paul
admonishes Christians to be aware of the signs of the times so as to deal with
this life on earth in such a way that they would not miss the chance to gain
from this passing world life eternal.
