Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters
and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Just right
after Christmas, we celebrate the Feast of the family of the Son of God made
man.
This event sends
to the whole humanity a clear message that God had also prepared a family in
which His Son was born and grew up as a true human being. For this reason the human family was blessed
by God in order for Christ to become human.
We pray in
this Holy Mass for the holiness, stability and happiness of our own families
and the human family.
Please all
stand for the entrance hymn.

To the Readings
-
First Reading Gn 15:1-6; 21:1-3
For Abraham,
the great figure of the Old Testament, the family can be complete only when it
is composed with not parents alone but children, too. His earnest prayer for the blessing of having
a child was answered by God.
-
Second Reading Heb 11:8. 11-12.17-19
The faith
which the patriarch Abraham put in God was proved to be fruitful when he turned
from a childless parent into the father of a numerous and powerful people.
