First Reading
(Ez 47:1-2, 8-9, 12)
A reading from the Book of the Prophet
Ezekiel
The angel brought me back to the entrance of the temple,
and I saw water flowing out
from beneath the threshold of the temple toward the
east,
for the façade of the temple was toward the east;
the water flowed down from the southern side of the
temple,
south of the altar.
He led me outside by the north gate,
and around to the outer gate facing the east,
where I saw water trickling from the southern side.
He said to me,
“This water flows into the eastern district down
upon the Arabah,
and empties into the sea, the salt waters, which it
makes fresh.
Wherever the river flows,
every sort of living creature that can multiply
shall live,
and there shall be abundant fish,
for wherever this water comes the sea shall be made
fresh.
Along both banks of the river, fruit trees of every
kind shall grow;
their leaves shall not fade, nor their fruit fail.
Every month they shall bear fresh fruit,
for they shall be watered by the flow from the
sanctuary.
Their fruit shall serve for food, and their leaves
for medicine.”

1 Người ấy dẫn
tôi trở lại phía cửa Đền Thờ, và này: có nước vọt ra từ dưới ngưỡng cửa Đền Thờ
và chảy về phía đông, vì mặt tiền Đền Thờ quay về phía đông. Nước từ phía dưới
bên phải Đền Thờ chảy xuống phía nam bàn thờ.
2 Người ấy
đưa tôi ra theo lối cổng bắc và dẫn tôi đi vòng quanh theo lối bên ngoài, đến cổng
ngoài quay mặt về phía đông, và này: nước từ phía bên phải chảy ra.
8 Người ấy bảo
tôi: "Nước này chảy về miền đất phía đông, xuống vùng A-ra-ba, rồi đổ ra
biển Chết và làm cho nước biển hoá lành.
9 Sông chảy đến
đâu thì mọi sinh vật lúc nhúc ở đó sẽ được sống. Sẽ có rất nhiều cá, vì nước
này chảy tới đâu, thì nó chữa lành; sông này chảy đến đâu, thì ở đó có sự sống.
12 Trên hai bờ
sông sẽ mọc lên mọi giống cây ăn trái, lá không bao giờ tàn, trái không bao giờ
hết: mỗi tháng các cây đó sẽ sinh trái mới nhờ có nước chảy ra từ thánh điện.
Trái dùng làm lương thực còn lá để làm thuốc."

waters of the river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most

R/ Các nước sông đem niềm vui cho thành của Chúa Trời, đây
chính là đền thánh Đấng Tối Cao!
God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present
help in distress. Therefore, we fear not, though the earth be shaken and
mountains plunge into the depths of the sea. R/
Thiên Chúa là
nơi ta ẩn náu, là sức mạnh của ta. Người luôn luôn sẵn sàng giúp đỡ khi ta phải
ngặt nghèo. Vì vậy, chúng ta không sợ hãi, dầu cho địa cầu chuyển động, núi đồi
có sập xuống biển sâu. R/
There is a stream whose runlets gladden the city of
God, the holy dwelling of the Most High. God is in its midst; it shall not be
disturbed; God will help it at the break of dawn. R/
Một dòng sông
chảy ra bao nhánh đem niềm vui cho thành của Chúa Trời: đây chính là đền thánh
Đấng Tối Cao. Thiên Chúa ngự giữa thành, thành không lay chuyển; ngay từ rạng
đông, Thiên Chúa thương trợ giúp. R/
The LORD of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the
God of Jacob. Come! behold the deeds of the LORD, the astounding things he has
wrought on earth. R/
Chính Chúa Tể
càn khôn ở cùng ta luôn mãi, Thiên Chúa nhà Gia-cóp là thành bảo vệ ta. Đến mà
xem công trình của Chúa, Đấng gieo kinh hãi trên mặt địa cầu. Người chấm dứt
chiến tranh trên toàn cõi thế. R/
Second Reading
(1 Cor 3:9C-11, 16-17)
A reading from the first Letter of Saint
Paul to the Corinthians
Brothers and sisters:
You are God’s building.
According to the grace of God given to me,
like a wise master builder I laid a foundation,
and another is building upon it.
But each one must be careful how he builds upon it,
for no one can lay a foundation other than the one
that is there,
namely, Jesus Christ.
Do you not know that you are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If anyone destroys God’s temple,
God will destroy that person;
for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.

Anh em là
cánh đồng của Thiên Chúa, là ngôi nhà Thiên Chúa xây lên.
10 Theo ơn
Thiên Chúa đã ban cho tôi, tôi đặt nền móng như một kiến trúc sư lành nghề, còn
người khác thì xây trên nền móng đó. Nhưng ai nấy phải coi chừng về cách mình
xây cất.
11 Vì không
ai có thể đặt nền móng nào khác ngoài nền móng đã đặt sẵn là Đức Giê-su Ki-tô.
16 Nào anh em
chẳng biết rằng anh em là Đền Thờ của Thiên Chúa, và Thánh Thần Thiên Chúa ngự
trong anh em sao? 17 Vậy ai phá hủy Đền Thờ Thiên Chúa, thì Thiên Chúa sẽ hủy
diệt kẻ ấy. Vì Đền Thờ Thiên Chúa là nơi thánh, và Đền Thờ ấy chính là anh em.
Gospel (Jn
2:13-22)
Since the Passover of the Jews was near,
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
He found in the temple area those who sold oxen,
sheep, and doves,
as well as the money-changers seated there.
He made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the
sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money-changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
“Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father’s house a marketplace.”
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
“What sign can you show us for doing this?”
Jesus answered and said to them,
“Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise
it up.”
The Jews said,
“This temple has been under construction for
forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?”
But he was speaking about the temple of his Body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

13 Gần đến lễ
Vượt Qua của người Do-thái, Đức Giê-su lên thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.
14 Người thấy
trong Đền Thờ có những kẻ bán chiên, bò, bồ câu, và những người đang ngồi đổi
tiền.
15 Người liền
lấy dây làm roi mà xua đuổi tất cả bọn họ cùng với chiên bò ra khỏi Đền Thờ;
còn tiền của những người đổi bạc, Người đổ tung ra, và lật nhào bàn ghế của họ.
16 Người nói
với những kẻ bán bồ câu: "Đem tất cả những thứ này ra khỏi đây, đừng biến
nhà Cha tôi thành nơi buôn bán."
17 Các môn đệ
của Người nhớ lại lời đã chép trong Kinh Thánh: Vì nhiệt tâm lo việc nhà Chúa,
mà tôi đây sẽ phải thiệt thân.
18 Người
Do-thái hỏi Đức Giê-su: "Ông lấy dấu lạ nào chứng tỏ cho chúng tôi thấy là
ông có quyền làm như thế? "
19 Đức Giê-su
đáp: "Các ông cứ phá huỷ Đền Thờ này đi; nội ba ngày, tôi sẽ xây dựng lại."
20 Người
Do-thái nói: "Đền Thờ này phải mất bốn mươi sáu năm mới xây xong, thế mà nội
trong ba ngày ông xây lại được sao? "
21 Nhưng Đền
Thờ Đức Giê-su muốn nói ở đây là chính thân thể Người.
22 Vậy, khi
Người từ cõi chết trỗi dậy, các môn đệ nhớ lại Người đã nói điều đó, Họ tin vào
Kinh Thánh và lời Đức Giê-su đã nói.
