Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
This Sunday we celebrate the Holy Mass in praise and
thanksgiving offered to Our Lord Jesus Christ Who called Saints Peter and Paul,
and made them the two great Apostles. On
the rock of Saint Peter as the strong foundation the Lord built His
Church. With the teaching of Saint Paul
He strengthened the Church’s structure and mission of proclaiming the Good News
of salvation.
We pray to the Lord to bless Pope Francis, our bishops and
all God’s People, so the Church may be faithful to Christ’s command: “Go, and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading Acts 12:1-11
Saint Peter’s loyalty to Christ regardless of suffering,
imprisonment and death shows the proof that the Lord’s promise of His constant
support of the Church has come true. It
is in this faith that the Church carries on the preaching of Christ’s Gospel
Message.
-
Second Reading 1 Tim 4:6-8.17-18
Saint Paul shares with his disciple, Bishop Timothy, the
undying zeal for the Good News of Christ which he has spent all his life
proclaiming. More important is the
secret of his amazing perseverance in accomplishing his mission: the Lord
always stands by him and gives him strength.
