SOLEMNITY OF THE PENTECOST SUNDAY,
JUNE 8, 2014,
FEAST DAY AND SECOND BIRTHDAY OF
THE HOLY SPIRIT CHOIR
A.
Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass:
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
This Sunday
of the Pentecost, we join the universal Church in the solemn celebration of the
Holy Spirit’s descent upon the Apostles and the first Christian community in
order to bless the birth of the Church.
Filled with the wisdom and strength of the Spirit of the Risen Lord, the
Church was sent to proclaim to all peoples and nations the Good News of God’s
unconditional love and merciful salvation.
Today the
Holy Spirit Choir also celebrates its Feast Day and Second Birthday. May the Holy Spirit bless the Choir members,
so that they, filled with joy and gratitude, may sing God’s Holy Name louder
and louder.
Please all
stand for the entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading Acts 2:1-11
The Holy
Spirit is the very source of healing power which cured the wound of division
among peoples and brought them back to unity in the House of God.
-
Second Reading 1 Cr 12:3-7.12-13
Saint Paul
teaches the truth that the Holy Spirit always working in the Church helps
Christians to serve with their different gifts of divine grace the one and same
Lord God in Jesus Christ.
