Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration
of the Fifth Sunday of Easter, Year A.
As we are witnessing a time of crisis in many and different
respects of society, even of the Church, we need a clear and decisive answer to
the most urgent question: where can we find the way out of wrongdoing and death
in order to reach safety and life?
Let us listen to Christ Who tells us: “I am the Way, the
Truth, and the Life.”
We pray for Viet Nam our beloved country being in danger of
bloody conflict so that peaceful solution may prevail thanks to the
intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mother, Our Lady of La Vang.
Kindly all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading Acts 6:1-7
The Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ as one body, with
many and different members functioning together for the common good. The task of preaching the Gospel, however,
should be done as the first priority, by missionaries freed from all forms of distraction
and obstacle.
-
Second Reading 1 Pt 2:4-9
Saint Peter seems never to be tired of praising Christ for
the blessing of the Resurrection by which Christians were saved from their
sinful past and are now honored with high respect as “a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation”, and God’s own people.
