A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of the Third Sunday of
Easter, Year A.
Christ,
the Risen Lord, does not abandon His friends in confusion and at loss because
of His suffering and death on the cross.
After He rose from the dead, He appeared to the believers in Him,
strengthened their faith in Him through His teaching on salvation and in
particular through the breaking of bread.
We
pray for the blessing of encounter with the Lord Who lives now deep in all
aspects of our life and in our hearts.
Only when we meet Him personally can we become witnesses of His glorious
victory over the Evil One.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading: Acts 2:14.22-33
The
Resurrection of Christ was the main topic of the apostolic preaching in the
early times of Christianity. For the
audience of Jewish majority Saint Peter showed convincing evidence from Sacred
Scripture that Christ was raised from the dead in accordance with what had been
written.
-
Second Reading: 1 Pt
1:17-21
Our
new life in Christ was paid with so high a price: the Blood of the Son of
God. We owe, therefore, a sea of
gratitude to Christ Who died so that we might live through the mercy of God Who
forgave our sins because of Christ.
