Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters
and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
We celebrate this Sunday the solemn entrance of our Lord
Jesus Christ into the Holy City of Jerusalem to the joy and excitement of the
people who offered Him a magnificent welcome with branches of palm tree and
shouting, singing, and dancing.
Christ knew that the time of His sacrifice for the salvation
of humankind had come. He decided to
take the cross and walk up to Calvary where the New Covenant in His Blood would
be realized.
Let us join the people to welcome Christ and follow Him to
the celebration of this Holy Mass where all of us, together with Christ, the
High Priest, will offer ourselves as an expression of love and gratitude to God
the Father for having reconciled us sinners to Himself in Christ Jesus.

To the Readings
-
First Reading Is 50:4-7
Christ took the role of the lamb of sacrifice being led to
the place of crucifixion without any form of resistance or protest. This was because He loved sinners and wanted
to free them from the Evil One, even though that meant His own life.
-
Second Reading Phil 2:6-11
To successfully and properly perform the role of the
reconciler in bringing back the sinful humanity to God the Father, Christ, Son of
God and God Himself though, humbly assumed the form of human being. For this act of self-humiliation Christ
deserved glory and praise of highest degree bestowed on Him be God the Father.
