A. Introduction
a)
To the Holy Mass
Dear Sisters and
Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint
Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of the VII Sunday in the Ordinary
Time.
As we are taught
love is the most characteristic virtue of Christianity. We were created in God’s image. Saint John writes that God is love. So love must be the standard for the
recognition of God’s likeness in His children.
Our Lord Jesus
Christ wants Christians to live up to the New Commandment of Love by not only
forgiving their enemy but showing them true and sincere affection as well.
We pray in this Holy
Mass that Christ’s love for us which led Him to death on the Cross also enables
us to love our neighbor no matter what cost we have to pay for being His
authentic believers.
Please all stand for
the entrance hymn.
b)
To the Readings
-
First Reading Lv 19:1-2.17-18
The Lord God orders
His Chosen People to practice love of neighbor without any excuse so as to be
worthy of Him Who is holy. It was for
the first time that man was taught by God to love others as himself.
-
Second Reading 1 Cor 3:16-23
Saint Paul teaches
Christians to honor the image of God in their fellow men and women who are His
living temple. Any attempt, therefore,
to do harm to others would be a serious offense against the Lord God
Himself.
