A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
Welcome
to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of Sunday Holy Mass. We celebrate this Sunday the Baptism of the
Lord as one of the most glorious moments in the life and mission of Our Lord
Jesus Christ on earth. When He was
washed by Saint John the Baptist in the Jordan, God the Father declared Him His
Beloved Son Whom we should listen to in order to know the Way of Truth and
Life. Upon Him God the Holy Spirit came
down to witness to His Mission of saving humankind from sin and death.
We
are profoundly grateful to God for accepting us as His adopted children in Our
Lord Jesus Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism by water and the Holy
Spirit.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
-
First Reading Is
42:1-4.6-7
In
the past, holy persons like prophets were sent by God to announce His Message
of saving truth and urge people to reform their lives in order to be worthy of
eternal happiness.
When
the due time came, God sent His Beloved Son as the most authorized Messenger to
bring all peoples of all times the
Good News of His Love. God the Father
and God the Holy Spirit threw complete and absolute support behind Christ.
-
Second Reading Acts
10:34-38
The
big number of those who accept faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ is not, for Saint
Peter, a reason for our pride but rather that for our gratitude to God, Our
loving and caring Father Who wants all peoples—we ourselves included—to be
saved.
