A. Introduction to The Holy Mass
Listen to the Introduction
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
As
we celebrate this Sunday the Feast of Saint Martin de Porres, a Domnican lay
Friar, we praise and thank the Lord God for His great love manifest in the life
of this humble man who reached heavenly happiness just by fulfilling his
everyday task of a gatekeeper. Not only
did he open the door of the priory to welcome visitors but he also embraced in
his loving and caring arms the poor, the suffering from all forms of illness in
order to bring them to Christ, the very Source of Healing Power.
We
pray to the Lord that we, too, may find the joy of serving our less fortunate
neighbors, believing that we are doing Him the best favor.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.
B. Introduction to The Readings
a) First Reading Is 58:6-10
To
compare with other forms of worship and service, charity works, according to
the Prophet Isaiah, always win the Lord God’s pleasure, thus blessing. The Master of all good things will, in His
turn, grant greater favors to those who have cared for their poor brothers and
sisters.
b) Second Reading Gal 3:26-28; 4:6-7
The
bond that unites all Christians together despite their differences, in Saint
Paul’s viewpoint, is charity. Endowed
with this gift of agape believers in
Christ regard one another as sisters and brothers, for they all are children in
the family of God.
