A. Introduction
a) To the Holy Mass
Dear
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good
morning!
We
celebrate this Sunday the 26th week in the Ordinary Time, liturgical year C,
with the theme “How to deal wisely with earthly possessions?”
The
message of Divine Word points out that all resources which we are granted by
the Creator in this life should be at the use of everyone and at the service of
God and neighbors. The more we receive
the better our sharing with one another is expected to be.
Money
and power can be considered the acid test for an authentic disciple of Christ,
no matter what status in the Christian community they may find themselves
in. The rich man in this Sunday’s
parable failed that test because he refused to lend his less fortunate fellow
man a helping hand regardless of the latter’s desperate conditions.
We
pray for the strength of our will so as to be able to listen to the Word of God
and put it into practice.
We
also pray in particular for our friends who receive the Sacraments of Baptism
and Matrimony respectively. May Our Lord
Jesus Christ be always the lasting peace and happiness in their life.
Please
all stand for the entrance hymn.
b) To the Readings
- First Reading (Am
6:1a. 4-7)
The
Lord God knows man’s greedy, selfish, and evil thoughts and deeds which He will
not let go without any accountability.
- Second Reading (1
Tim 6:11-16)
Saint
Paul urges his disciple Bishop Timothy to hold fast to the latter’s faith in
Christ until the day he comes back in glory.
Then the reward of eternal life will not fail those who wait for the
King of kings and Lord of lords.
