Last
Thursday evening July 18, 2013 the Holy Spirit Choir held a simple tea party at
Saint Dominic’s Parish Church Pastoral Center for the advanced birthday
celebration of Sir Sky Page, our teacher of English.
Sir
Page, a former Viet Nam War US serviceman, came back to this country in 2006
not just for a visit but for a goodwill mission. Since that day on he has helped building
classrooms in Đà Nẵng, teaching English in Nha Trang and Sai Gon. He worked just for free. Last June, he was invited to teach English to
our choir members.
At
the party Sir Page shook hand with each and one of the choir members,
recommending them confidence in learning English and success in life.
Sir
Page told us that he did not like to say “good-bye” because people do so when
someone departs for heaven, but he preferred saying “see you soon”. Yet both
teacher and students had to hold back their tears when Sir Page offered the
closing prayer and all joining hands sang “Amazing Grace”.
Sir Page flew home in Texas
on Saturday July 20, 2013.
Thank you, Sir, for helping
us to improve our English and appreciating loving and caring friendship.
Chúc
thầy luôn khỏe và thượng lộ bình an!
Hy
Have a nice trip home, Sir!
See you soon and may God
bless you with good health and happiness.
